Just so you know, I still feel the same way about icky public touchscreens. But I have to admit it might be nice to not have to squeeze through 18 sweaty drunk people to get my order in.
That is cool, but I agree about touching things other people have touched, especially in bars! They should make a sense volume that tracks finger movement in space and projects it onto a rapidly moving curtain of humid air. I have seen systems that do this really well at the Wired technology festival a couple of years ago. If Tom's VR setup really existed, he wouldn't need the gloves, unless he just wanted to look cooler :)
